Delivery files are all different, and the useful detail is usually in the specifics. When something doesn't behave, include:
Please don't upload client media. The metadata read-out is nearly always enough, and if it isn't, a short synthetic clip that reproduces the behaviour is better for everyone.
Specifications change, and operators revise them without much fanfare. If a rule looks wrong, say so — point at the document. Every rule in the app cites the published source it was transcribed from, along with the version and the date it was checked, so a report that names the current document and the clause it contradicts can be fixed quickly and confidently.
Spec corrections are the most valuable reports this project gets.
The whole catalogue is browsable for free — every spec, every rule, and the source citation behind it. File verification is enabled free on two open industry standards, AS-11 UK DPP HD and EBU R 128 Programme, so you can point the app at a real master and see what it actually does before deciding anything. PDF QC report export is part of Full Unlock.
Full Unlock is a one-time purchase that enables verification and PDF export across the whole catalogue, and keeps every spec that shipped with your version — permanently.
Purchases go through the App Store. If you've reinstalled, moved to a new Mac, or signed in with a different Apple Account, use Restore on the unlock screen — it re-checks your entitlements with Apple and doesn't charge you again.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Letting the subscription lapse never takes anything away. Every spec that shipped with the version you bought stays unlocked, forever. The subscription only adds specifications published after your purchase.
It's optional, and it's meant to be. Buy once and the app keeps working exactly as it did the day you bought it.
If you did, it gave you nothing — and we'd like to put that right. Spec Updates only adds specifications published after a Full Unlock purchase. On its own it unlocks nothing at all. Until version 1.2 the app let it be bought anyway, which was our mistake.
Get in touch on the support forum and we'll sort it out — either help you get the subscription refunded by Apple, or give you the Full Unlock instead. Version 1.2 stops the purchase from being possible.
Every rule is transcribed from an operator's own published documentation and cites it, with the document version and the date it was verified. Where a specification is genuinely ambiguous, the app says so rather than inventing a tolerance.
That said: operators revise their documents, and your delivery contract is the authority, not this app. Treat Checkpoint QC as a fast, thorough second pair of eyes — and verify against the current document before hand-off.
